About
A family-owned venue rooted in history, nature, and meaningful celebration
Our Story
Mother & Son | Co-Owners
Greywacke Meadows began as a shared vision between a mother and son — a dream to create a beautiful, affordable venue where couples could celebrate freely and authentically.
When Brandon first shared his idea for a wedding barn, it immediately became a family endeavor. Together, that idea grew into Greywacke Meadows — a hands-on, family-owned venue built with intention, care, and respect for both history and community.
Today, Greywacke Meadows is proudly co-owned and operated by Jane and Brandon McDermott, offering couples a welcoming space where every celebration feels personal.
Rooted in the Land
Greywacke Meadows is set on 85 acres in the town of Grafton, New York, surrounded by rolling meadows, mature trees, and a landscape shaped by time.
The property includes a restored 1843 farmhouse, a custom-built timber-frame barn, and a quiet meadow across the road — once home to horses and barns belonging to past generations.
Scattered throughout the grounds are natural greywacke boulders, stone walls, and pathways formed by glaciers hundreds of years ago. These elements remain exactly where nature left them, offering a timeless backdrop for ceremonies and photographs.
The Meaning Behind the Name
Greywacke is a historic sandstone found throughout the town of Grafton. It forms the foundation of the farmhouse, the stone walls surrounding the barn, and the large boulders resting in the meadow.
Chosen as a tribute to the land itself, the name Greywacke Meadows honors the quiet presence of these stones — silent sentinels that have shaped the area for centuries and continue to be part of its story today.
